Counting Bikes and Smiles at Garden of Peace School

Former student of Garden of Peace primary school in Kurumbapalayam village, K. Pooja, now has to ride 2 miles to her lower secondary school at Kanyambadi. She tells us with a wry grin, “I would have to walk without my cycle from Lotus Pedals!”

In partnership with our local affiliates, last year 50 bicycles were provided to children at Garden of Peace School. Ever vigilant with respect to follow-up, we called in the scholars during a recent visit and 39 bikes arrived within the afternoon. Look at these smiling faces!

The teachers at Garden or Peace are in close touch with all parents in nearby villages, including those of students attending the nearest lower secondary schools. They are able to closely monitor our Lotus Pedals recipients and we are so grateful for their help in keeping this program alive and well!
